Be a Part of the Sustainable Energy Revolution: Experience Enhanced User Satisfaction with V-LAB’s THERCOM Controller

THERCOM App Intuitive User Interface

In today’s world, energy efficiency is more important than ever. With the growing concern for our environment and the need to reduce energy consumption, the demand for innovative solutions has never been higher. At V-LAB, we have been at the forefront of energy efficiency research and development, and our latest project, THERCOM, is a game-changer in the field. With THERCOM, we’re not just reducing energy bills; we’re also significantly improving thermal comfort, making it a win-win for both consumers and the planet.

Unveiling THERCOM

THERCOM is not just another indoor climate control system; it’s a revolutionary paradigm shift in the way we experience and manage our indoor environments. This cutting-edge controller focuses on three essential aspects: enhancing user experience, optimising energy efficiency, and keeping pace with technological advancements.

Transforming User Experience

THERCOM redefines the way we interact with our indoor climate control systems. By implementing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, we’ve made managing your indoor environment a breeze. THERCOM doesn’t just control your indoor climate; it ensures that you have the best possible experience, adhering to European and UK standards for thermal comfort.

Smart Energy Savings

Energy efficiency is a top priority for us. THERCOM has been meticulously designed to help you reduce energy consumption and, as a result, save on your energy bills. In fact, THERCOM has demonstrated the potential to save energy of around 41% in average, which is a significant step towards a more sustainable future.

Integration with Technology

We understand that we’re in the midst of a technological revolution. THERCOM is on the cutting edge of this wave, integrating seamlessly with the Internet of Things (IoT). This means your indoor climate control is not just smart; it’s intelligent. THERCOM harnesses the power of IoT to create a truly intelligent and adaptive indoor climate control system.

Further Development within the Horizon 2020 InterConnect

To further enhance the capabilities of THERCOM, we’ve partnered with the European Union’s Horizon 2020 InterConnect project through the Open Call for Demonstrators of Energy Applications. We actively participated in their urban call, aiming to revolutionise the energy landscape and mitigate the impact of the current energy crisis. Our goal is to enhance grid stability, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lower energy costs for consumers. The collaboration with InterConnect has allowed us to take THERCOM to the next level.

In the InterConnect’s Open Call for Demonstrators of Energy Applications, out of 100 applications, 32 were successfully submitted, and ultimately, 10 were selected to present a clear plan for the implementation of energy applications. Out of these 10, only 7 were selected to move from Stage 1 to the next stages to develop and implement the innovation, along with the project consortium.

The SAREF-THERCOM project is in three key stages:

Stage 1: Feasibility

The initial stage was dedicated to assessing the feasibility of THERCOM. We ensured that our vision was not only ambitious but also attainable by conducting comprehensive market research, technical assessments, and financial evaluations. This rigorous process helped us lay a strong foundation for the innovative journey ahead.

Stage 2: Innovation and Integration

In the second stage, we focused on innovating and integrating THERCOM into the existing infrastructure. This was a critical step to make our system truly intelligent and energy efficient. These encompass the integration of the THERCOM system with various APIs, real-time data collection from smart meters, the grid and domestic IoT sensors, and the creation of sophisticated algorithms for bespoke energy recommendations. The endeavour will also give precedence to semantic interoperability with other stakeholders in the energy sector, fostering a cohesively interconnected and efficient energy ecosystem.

Stage 3: Testing

The testing phase, which will commence in December 2023, is where we will rigorously evaluate THERCOM’s performance in real-world scenarios, including pilot schemes in over 30 UK locations. This phase is crucial for fine-tuning the system and ensuring it meets the highest standards of user experience and energy efficiency.

Join Us in Testing

As we continue our journey towards making THERCOM the gold standard in indoor climate control, we invite individuals and organisations who are passionate about energy efficiency and thermal comfort to join us in the testing phase. Your feedback and participation are invaluable to us as we strive to create a sustainable and user-centric solution.
